Seasonal record: 7-1
The Brewster Boys JV football team had an incredible season, finishing with an outstanding 7-1 record. Led by sophomores Luke Cunningham, Aidan Bisignano, Paul Rienzi, Cameron LaMoreaux and Frank Tumminello, and freshman AJ Accurso, Mikey Subin, Adrian Martinez and Brody Snyder, the team showcased their talent and determination on the field. Their hard work and teamwork paid off, making Brewster JV a force to be reckoned with. The Brewster JV Football team also demonstrated excellent offense and defense throughout the season, running and passing the ball very well and allowing an impressive average of 8 points per game on defense. Their outstanding performance on both offense and defense truly defined their remarkable season.
Looking to future, the Brewster Boys JV football team hopes to repeat their success for many years to come.
Soccer – Boys Varsity
Captain: Carter Dineen
Coach: Jim McKee
Seasonal record: 3-14
Their highlight of the year was beating John Jay Cross River to open up the season. The team put in a great performance to beat them 4-0, which allowed them to start off the season with high spirits. Looking to the future, they hope to build on lots of experience, and are looking forward to a great season next year.
Soccer – Boys JV
Captains: Marvin Flores, Andy Sagastume, and Ben Unson
Coach: Dominique Corrao
Seasonal record: 2-8-1
There were many highlights for the team this season: Andy Sagastume scored 5 goals, Marvin Flores scored 4, the team won some games, and they improved over last year, because the JV team then only won one game. Some good things this season from the JV team was that everyone was friendly and set a good example when they were losing: when some put their heads down, other players encouraged them to keep going. Looking forward, they are looking for the athletic department to give the JV team more games because this season, they didn’t play all the games and only played half of all the teams. Another thing that we are looking forward to is to improve our skills and teamwork and win more games.
Soccer – Girls Varsity
Captains: Addison Crowley and Jordan Niles
Coaches: Michael Fratto and Kristen Ohberg
Seasonal record: 4-12
A seasonal highlight that impacted the girls was only losing to Somers with a score of 3-2. In the past the score difference has always been significant, usually with Brewster not scoring any goals. Knowing this game was going to be their last, they played their hearts out, with the first goal being scored by Ava Fagin with the assist by Mia Crivelli. When the second half came by, another goal was scored by Sienna Santiago, making the score 2-3. Despite the loss, they were all so proud of themselves for how amazing they played against the #1 team in the section. Tears were shed, hugs being given everywhere: it was a very emotional game for the girls.
In the next year, the girls expect to work hard over the summer, coming together as a team to create a new family with the upcoming girls from JV.
Soccer – Girls JV
Captains: Ava Chica and Paulieanna Peluso
Coaches: Brianna Thomas
Seasonal record: 0-15
Although it was a difficult season, Isabella Peleaze (starting goalie), pushed through and saved the team the average of 20 goals per game. She went strong all season and pushed to the very end. Even thought Isabella wasn’t a team captain, the captains and the rest of the team always treated her as if she was. They cannot wait to continue playing with her! Looking to next year, the team wants to improve in skills and increase their positive attitudes.
Tennis – Girls Varsity
Captains: Claire Renault and Katie Tarantino
Coach: Robin McCollum
Claire, the team’s first singles player, won plenty of her matches with flying colors! The group also had many newcomers this year who put in hard work learning tennis for the first time. The members had their first team-win on their last game against Ossining, which was also on their senior night! Next year, the team hopes to see their new players continue to progress and get better at tennis to bring more wins to the team!
Volleyball – Girls Varsity
Captains: Taylor Dudones, Gabby Gileno, and Shay Rookwood
Coaches: Tom Fabiani, Marissa Tambini
Seasonal record: 11-8
Having a winning record throughout our entire season, they are a very strong team. During their first match against Yorktown at home, the team lost 3-0. Fighting back during their second match against them at their home gym on their senior night, the girls won 3-0. A strong middle hitter, Nora Keating slammed the ball down as well as used her ninja skills to earn the team points by being sneaky. Their starting sophomore setter, Avery Dudones, assisted them in their total points by giving their hitters beautiful sets to get a kill. For the upcoming years, the team has a really strong program ahead. The girls are extremely hard workers: they play all year round (club), and they put their time and effort into the program to make it what it is today. The seniors cannot wait to see what the future has in store for them!
Volleyball – Girls JV
