Mrs. Boehm’s AP Environmental Science classes got a real treat last month when the Brewster High School Class of 2012 Valedictorian, Aine Chalmers, paid the school a visit. A graduate of Columbia University, and a 2015 MacArthur Fellow, Aine has performed extensive work and research in water management, including her work under Dr. Kartik Chandran at the Chandran Microbiology Lab at Columbia University.

Ms. Chalmers came into the AP Environmental classes to discuss her current pathway to becoming a professional engineer and to share her expertise in water management and wastewater treatment. Mrs. Boehm said her classes were fortunate to have such a successful BHS alumnus return to share her authentic experiences, knowledge and expertise with the AP Environmental students.
