Career Skills Class Distributes PPE and Smiles
June 18, 2021
You can’t stop the Career Skills Class! Lisa Piccolino, one of their TA’s, has a connection with ACME, and they have asked the Career Skills Program to help distribute their surplus of PPE items. ACME has provided the school with a large supply of masks, surface wipes, and antibacterial spray, all of which are sealed and brand new. Many of the packages of masks are for children. The class has already distributed some of these items to our school nurses. The rest of the supplies have been bagged and delivered to The Community Action Program (CAP), Women, Infants and Children (WIC), The Women’s Resource Center, and The Friends Network.
The Career Skills Class also spent time and created artwork for the Waterview Nursing Home in Purdys, New York. It will be displayed in the new art gallery they are designing in time for Mother’s Day.
Finally, as a part of the school-wide Teacher Appreciation celebration, the Career Skills Class created a small token to let them know they “hapPEN to be INKredible”! These students and teachers never cease to amaze us with their creativity, drive, ingenuity!
