In anticipation of Veteran’s Day, the BHS NJROTC, Chain of Command and Drill teams pooled together funds to pay for a surprise party in order to say thank you to their beloved Chief and Commander. The plan was executed by c/LT Martine Hawthorne and c/PO1 Alonzo Mclemore. The cadets put together an NJROTC photo album, a book of signatures and messages from NJROTC members as well as BHS faculty members, and personalized gifts for Chief Vlangas and Commander Waidelich. The party was celebrated with a themed cake and food contributed by the members of the unit. NJROTC is not simply a unit or a class to its members; it is considered a family. The unit would like to thank Chief and Commander for their service and for all they do. Another special thank you goes out to the teachers and staff who helped to organize the event.
